He was predeceased by: his parents, Preston Roland and Flora Belle "Barkley" Barfield; and his siblings, John Henry Barfield, Preston Roland Barfield Jr., Bonnie "Louise" Barfield, Helen Ann Moore and Shirley Jean Sanford.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Barfield of Chipley, FL; his children, James Thomas Barfield (Nan) of Marianna, FL, Bonnie Louise Smith (Robert) of Chipley, FL and Martha Kaye Compton (Andy) of Chipley, FL; his sisters, Eloise Hill of Sneads, FL and Hazel Ann Barfield of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Kevin Christopher Smith (Casey), James Thomas "Jamie" Barfield II (Maddy), Michael Jamison Smith, Ryan Dallas Smith (Meagan), Cody Brandon Barfield (Chelsea), Sara Kaye Givens and Kaci Elizabeth Compton; and his great grandchildren, James Thomas "JT" Barfield III, Rory Dallas Smith and Bennett Robert Barfield. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
