He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Lou; his brothers, Dick and Craig Van Patten; and his parents, Philip Patten and Minnie Van Patten.
He is survived by: his children, Alan Jr., Scott and Kristen Meyer (Dave); his grandchildren, Alli Price (Andrew), Mack and Quin Meyer; his great grandchildren, Josie, Charlotte and Shaw Price; and his pet Cody.
