It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hugh L. Smith III of Clearwater, Florida, who passed away on January 10, 2026, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Llewellyn Smith Jr. and Jean Simmons. He is survived by: his children, Hugh Llewellyn Smith IV and Hailey Rocio Elizabeth Smith; his wife Heather MacAlister; his daughter-in-law Trina; his granddaughter Aria; his sister Debbie (Dave); his nephew David; and his great-nephew Carter of Palm Harbor, Florida. He is also survived by his brothers‑ and sisters‑in‑law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
