John Tracey Metts Obituary

It is with great sadness that we lost someone with an eccentric personality and even more eccentric dreams; all in the best way possible. On November 7, 2022, the world lost John Tracey Metts (Clearwater, Florida) at the age of 54.
John was California born-- and nothing took the California out of him. Easy-going, lover of all, a true flower child. He loved head-banging to his favorite heavy metal bands from the age of 9 until the end of his time. He loved books of all kinds, even when he didn't agree with the message. He was studying for his Doctorate to be a Professor so he could spread his vast knowledge including but not limited to: Anthropology, Psychology, Paganism, Occult Studies, Research Scientology, and most of all; Teaching. He loved talking about anything that made the people around him happy; he was malleable to all situations and conversations. He had an answer for everything, and always saw in grey, though he only ever wore black.
He was pre-deceased by his Grandfather-- notably proclaimed Father-- Kenneth Metts, Mother Gail Metts-Casper, Uncle Joseph Metts, and Aunt Sherry Metts, among many distant and out-of-touch, yet loved relatives. He is survived by his Daughter Ariel Metts (Husband Vincent Renzo), and grandchildren Marceline Whyte and Dominick Renzo, and Bonus Daughter Alyssa Gilmore. John Metts had many friends, everyone who came across him in conversation became his friend in some way. But there were a couple he cherished so deeply, true friends since his childhood who knew him through and through. Most prominently including Darrell Detweiler, Curt Christianson, Glenn Sime, and Al Diaz.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Greynolds Park in North Miami Beach, Florida.
