He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schmidt and Marilyn Eckerdt. He is survived by: his wife Christine Schmidt; his children, Ian Schmidt and Taylor Velazquez (Adam); his siblings, Kurt Schmidt (Donna), Kyle Odren, Cynthia Schmidt-Moilanen (John), Lynn Willems (Luther) and Shalyn Smagacz (Daniel); and his friends, Kip and Christine. He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 3:00 PM at 2508 Lone Rd, Freeland, MI 48623.
