He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose Melendez and Maria Rios; and his brother Victor Rios. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Rios (MacDonald); his children, Milagros, Theresa, Carlos Melendez and Nicholas J. Rios; and his siblings, Teresa and Jorge Melendez. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
