With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melisa Jean Maples of Clearwater, Florida, born in Smithville, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 7, 2026. In the vast expanse of eternity, Melisa shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Melisa farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her grandparents, Jim Maples, Gene and Billie Cernech. She is survived by: her parents, Steve J. Maples and Nancy J. Maples; her sisters, Susan M. Maples and Michelle Carpenter (Andrew); her significant other Billy Ray; her niece Hailey M. Tretter; her nephew Graydon S. Tretter; and her great-niece Xena M. Roberson. She is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Moffitt Cancer Center, an organization close to Melisa's heart.
