He was predeceased by : his sister Donna Hayes; and his parents, John Hayes and Jean Hayes. He is survived by : his sister Irish; his wife Mickie Hayes; his children, Jeremy Hayes and Stephanie Hayes; his grandchildren, Henry and Clara; and his sisters, Sandra Fries, Christine Bucholz and Jacqueline Root. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in his name can be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
