He was predeceased by : his father James Butler Hughes; and his siblings, Elbert Hughes, Joe Hughes and Idoma Hughes Ware. He is survived by : his wife Virginia Anderson Hughes; his daughters, Wanda Hughes of Clewiston and Gloria Hughes Ramsey of Bridge City, Texas; his brother Kenneth; his sisters-in-law, Margaret Hughes of South Carolina, Jennie Lou Hughes and Terry Hughes (Widow) of Jasper, FL.; and his grandchildren, Devan Ramsey of Bridge City, Texas. and Erin Ramsey of Bridge City, Texas..
