Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Mary Ellen for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Mahoney and Flossie Elizabeth Mooney Mahoney; and her husband George Maury "Sonny" Belk, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Ruth Ann (Lewell), Stephanie (Danny), Margo and Tina (Clay). She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren along with a host of other family members.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ridgelawn Cemetery (520 Ridgelawn Rd, Clewiston, FL 33440).
