He was predeceased by: his parents, David H. Walter and Dorothy H. Walter (Amerman); his wife Dorothy H. Walter; and his children, David Walter and Barbara Kelsall.

He is survived by: his sons, Douglas (Renee) and Daniel. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
