He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Beatrice Cartwright; his son Charles Cartwright; his brother Leaughman Cartwright; his granddaughter Nancy Kelly; and his nephew Darrell Bowers.

He is survived by: his daughters, Patsy O'Hanley (Shauwn) and Brenda Cartwright; his sister Martha Bowers of Cocoa, FL; and his grandchildren, Phillip O'Hanley, Charles Cartwright Jr., Chantal, Tippins and Rebecca Dixon. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
