He was predeceased by: his parents, Ross Batson and Birdie Batson; his siblings, Mary Lee Lewis and Larry Batson; and his granddaughter Lauren Annelise Batson-Raab.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Batson; his sons, Douglas Batson (Jan) and Steven Batson; and his granddaughters, Maegan Batson, Jessica Batson, Ashton Kruser, Autumn Batson, Caroline Batson and Emma Batson. He is also survived by five great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
