He was predeceased by: his son Ronald B. Mitchell, Jr.; and his siblings, Helen Mitchell, Debra Mitchell and Lewis Mitchell. He is survived by: his wife Rita J. Mitchell; his sons, Carlos Mitchell, Michael Mitchell (Melissa) and Cedric Mitchell (Camala); his stepchildren, Syreta McDonald, Dupont Sykes and Dominique Sykes; his siblings, Beverly Mitchell and Milton Mitchell (Sarah); and his siblings-in-law, Willie Echols, Ernest Echols (Jackie), Michael Echols, Ryan Echols, Sonja Mitchell, Ruthie L. Echols and Teresa Robinson (Jonathan). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives, friends and god children.
