He was predeceased by: his wife Amy Parish; his sisters, Janette C. Madison and Elizabeth Chism Pruitt; and his parents, Herman Sr. Chism and Tinnie Chism.
He is survived by: his siblings, Herman Chism, Jr. (Ann), Carroll Linwood Chism, Clovis Chism Shelton, Christine Chism White (Kenneth) and Ruby Chism Matherly; his children, Anita Chism Dalton (John), Ronald Chism (Rhonda McGuire), Casey Chism (Ivette), Sandra Chism Oakes (Travis) and Megan Parish; and his grandchildren, Katherine Cassidy, Ethan Dalton, Hannah Dalton, Kaylee Chism, Hannah McGuire, Carley McCullock, Layne Chism, Aiden Chism, Jayden Oakes and Avery Oakes.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Blairs Baptist Church (5260 US-29 BUS, Blairs, VA 24527).
