With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sylvester Carter (Dade City, Florida), born in Alma, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 15, 2025 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ananias Carter, Sr. and Lillie Mae Carter; his daughter Geneva Milley Jefferson; and his siblings, Collis Carter, Willie James Carter, Herman Carter, Sinclair Carter, Ananias Carter, Jr., Lela Mae Carter, Norma Jean Johnson, Lucille Owens and Bernice Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Arrewintha M. Carter; his children, Decian, Levester Stevens of Alma, Leroy Jones of Atlanta, Shawn Greene of Alma, Markisha Williams of Zephyrhills and Shandricka Lashaye Boyd of Tampa, Florida; his stepchildren, John T. McNeil, Jr. of Tampa, Anna Johnson of Apopka, Lynwood McNeil of Orlando, Vendere McNeil of Palm Coast and William K. Wynn of Orlando, Florida; his siblings, Geraldine Carter of Dade City, Florida and Carnell Carter of Atlana, Georgia; and his close friends, Brother Larry Wright and Commissioner Jimmy Shive. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
