Dan leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Dan’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Dan will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Hobbie and Mary Sturgis Hobbie; and his brother-in-law Ruddy Rigsbee. He is survived by: his wife Muriel Hobbie; his children, Jonathan Hobbie of Denver, Colorado and Jessica Sanders (Olie) of Tampa, Florida; and his siblings, Lawrence Hobbie Jr. (Valerie) and Margie Rigsbee of Chesterfield, Virginia. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Cornerstone Church (101 Cornerstone Church Pl, Davenport, FL 33897). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 1:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513).
The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in his memory to Cornerstone Church, Davenport, FL, building fund.
