She was predeceased by: her parents, George Lawton Hurst and Georgia Hurst; her husband Dr. J. Doyle Casteel; her siblings, Wilburn Hurst, J. T. Hurst, Philmore Hurst, Ellis Hurst, Louise Allen and Idela Followwill; and her stepsister Uila Barger.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Moore of Port Orange and Erin Moore of Chuluota; her grandchildren, Sarah Hultgreen (Ricardo Blanco), Will McFetridge (Rachel Jones) and Rue Dean; her great grandchildren, Amelia, Liam and Caden; her sister Cela Foster; and her stepchildren, Leah Cameli (Jim), James Casteel and Sharon Williford. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Central Baptist Church (152 Fairview Ave, Daytona Beach, FL 32114).
