He is survived by: his wife Alice Halsey (Mowry) of DeBary, Florida; his brother Mickey Halsey (Patty) of Mexico; his brother-in-law Fay Courbat of Mexico, NY.; and his children, Todd Halsey (June) of Palermo, Troy Halsey (Julie) of Mexico, Jon Halsey (Julie) of Mexico, Barb Munger (Pat) of Binghamton, Melanie Woods Jr. (Don) of West Monroe and Matthew Halsey (Shenvalee) of Mexico. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Harter Funeral Home, Inc. - Mexico (9 Washington Ave, Mexico, NY 13114). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Mexico Volunteer Fire Department in Max's memory, or simply honor his lifelong love of racing by spending an evening at Oswego Speedway and enjoying a race.
