She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaiah E. Laird and Henrietta Goode Laird; her husband David Donald Johnson, Sr.; her son Marcus Johnson; her brother Rodgers E. Laird; and her sister-in-law Joanna Johnson.
She is survived by: her sister Gussie Laird Maynor; her children, David D. Johnson, Jr. (Denise) and Lori Hughes (A. Russell); her siblings-in-law, Joe Johnson (Nellie), Russell Johnson (Betsy), Jerry Johnson, Mary Johnson and Vivian Johnson Rhodes; her grandchildren, Candace Johnson, Micah Trinidad, Kawaii Johnson and Melvin Brown; and her great grandchildren, Camryn Johnson, Caitlyn Johnson, A'merie Trinidad and Soleil Trinidad.
