In the sacred silence of farewell, Edward is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Edward's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Hicks Sumner; and his aunt Edna Childs.
Ed was passionate about fitness, not only for himself but also for others; he received the Distinguished Service Award for recognition of outstanding service and dedication to the improvement of the interscholastic athletic program in the state of Florida as well as significant contributions to the coaching profession in 1978.
