It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John William Yerkes of Deland, Florida, who passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Yerkes and Margaret Humble; and his siblings, Margaret and Joe. He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Yerkes; his wife Elaine; his daughter Jennifer Collie (Stafford); his grandsons, Dylan and Johnathon; and his sisters, Mary and Rita.
He was also an organ donor, and even in death he continued to give, donating his corneas—a final gift that perfectly reflected the way he lived: always helping, doing, and giving to others.
