She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie N. Jones and John H. Jones; her husband Earl McDaniel; and her daughter Wanda. She is survived by: her children, Lee, John (Amy) and Rob (Mary); and her cousin Anne Jones. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Lauwana's name to the Alzheimer's Association or Halifax Health Hospice of Orange City.
