He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice Herr and Hazel Herr. He is survived by: his wife Kerry Bower-Herr of DeLand, FL; his children, Hunter Herr of Austin, TX, Patrick Herr (Cindy) and Kimberley Herr Miller of Logansport, IN; and his siblings, Cora Ware (Larry), Cheryl Beard of Lafayette, IN and Leonard Herr (Rita). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
