Brian Flynn wrote a sympathy message

“To the entire DeSantis family. I worked for Carl when he took over Ernie's on Atlantic Ave in Delray Beach. It is a sad day for me to to have just read about Carl's passing. I always admired this man because he was the true definition of a REAL MAM'S MAN. Every time I ran into him weather it was at La Cigale he always had a big hello for me. I will miss this man in my HEART. He had nothing but CLASS and DIGNITY running thru his whole body God Bless and RIP Carl”
