He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy McKechnie (Dottie) of Great Neck. He is survived by: his children, James R. Wells, Jr. of Deerfield Beach, FL, Nicholas M. Wells (Renee) of Boynton Beach, FL, Phoebe (Tadek Gaj) and R. N. of Cambridge, MA.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Jaquith, James Wells III, Nicholas Wells Jr., Erin DiGigandi, Dr. Eoin, Daire and Cormac Gaj; and his great grandchildren, Jason, Matthew Jaquith, Andrew Schaefer, Alexander Wells, Sofia, Mateo Wells, Everett and Juniper Gaj. He is also survived by his family which had expanded to 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
