He was predeceased by : his brothers, David Copen and Joe Hickey. He is survived by : his wife Berridge; his son Mark; his daughter-in-law Tiffany; his grandson Addison of Charlotte, NC.; and his brother Carl J Hickey, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL..

He was a member, and Past President of the Marshall University Foundation, The Foster Foundation, and many other civic organizations.
