Rafaela V. Garvey Obituary

Rafaela V. Garvey, beloved wife of the late Vincent F. Garvey, passed away peacefully at her home in Delray Beach, FL on March 14, 2026 at the age of 101. She was Born in Brooklyn, NY on February 26, 1925 to the late Joseph and Vita (Granuzzo) Cusumano.

Rafaela was a loving and devoted daughter, wife and mother who always put her family first. She cherished her time at home and enjoyed entertaining family on holidays or any occasion; making everyone feel welcomed and loved in her home. She was passionate about the Brooklyn Dodgers in her early years, growing up in the shadows of Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, NY. She also enjoyed music – listening and singing along to her favorites Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin.

She is survived by her son Keith Garvey and his wife Marcela of Norwalk, CT. In addition to her son, Rafaela leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren: Michael Garvey, Kimberly Garvey Damato, their respective spouses Lauren Randall Garvey and Joseph Damato, Marcela Goni and Mariana Goni as well as three great grandchildren: Giorgio, Arabella and Nico Damato. Rafaela was predeceased by her two brothers Matthew and Rudolph Cusumano. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who she loved very much.

Visitation will be on Sunday March 22nd, from 2:00pm to 6pm. at Magner Funeral Home 12 Mott Ave. Norwalk, Ct 06850. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23rd, 10:30 am. at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd. Norwalk, Ct. with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery 223 Richards Ave. Norwalk, Ct. 06850.
