It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Lucas (Deltona, Florida), born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though David may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lucas and Ella Lucas; and his brother William (Ella). He is survived by: his brother Robert Lucas (Munhall); his children, Denise M. White, David J. Lucas (Tammy), Douglas M. Lucas, Sr. (Cristina) and Deltona; and also Anna Jane Long (Jane) of Pittsburgh, PA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lankford Funeral Home (220 E New York Ave, DeLand, FL 32724). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 from 3:45 PM to 4:15 PM at the Enterprise Evergreen Cemetery (133-165 Enterprise Rd #133, Deltona, FL 32725).
