He is survived by: his wife Rhona; his children, Francis DeFoe, Griffin DeFoe (Jean), Josephine DeFoe, Tyrell Alexander (Mary), Suprina Alexander Williams, Andrea Christie, Danue Brown (Kim), Delain Dunn (Orville), Wayne Brown (Monitta) and Leighton Brown; and his siblings, Leo DeFoe, Cosmos DeFoe, Theresa DeFoe McLawrence and Catherine DeFoe Burton. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
