He was predeceased by: his parents, Laverne C Fankhauser and Geraldine E Fankhauser (Hollingshead). He is survived by: his friend Bill Rupp; his spouse Socorro "Cutie"; his children, Tammy Odell (George), Coleen Poitinger (Joe) and Brad Fankhauser (Audrey); his stepdaughters, Reena and Fie; and his grandchildren, Kirsten, Morgan, Aaron, Austin and Derek. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, many extended family members and friends.
Tom was a lifelong member of the Heritage Foundation, joining in 2007.
