He was predeceased by: his parents, Betsy Phillips and Walter S. Phillips; and his sister Patricia Crawford Poe. He is survived by: his wife Lori Boatwright-Phillips; his children, Chloe Phillips and Ashton Phillips; and his sisters, Pamela Phillips and Sarah Kilgore.
