He was predeceased by: his parents, Emily "Maud" Shinault Ferrell and Herbert L. Ferrell Sr.; his wives, Constance M. Ferrell (Kull) and Sandra R. Ferrell (Cunningham); his siblings, Laurencine Freeman, Herbert Ferrell Jr. and Grace Garnett McClure; and his son Bruce Ferrell, MD.
He is survived by: his sons, Ed Ferrell Jr. (Charlene) and Scott Ferrell, MD; his grandchildren, Britany Ferrell and Blayne Ferrell; his great grandchildren, Sunny Ferrell and Cooper Arp; Kim Mirelman (Daniel), Lyman Cunningham Sr. (Cathy) and Brian R. Cunningham.
