With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Louise O'Brien of Destin, Florida, born in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 20, 2026 at the age of 70. She was predeceased by: her parents, Col Francis W. O'Brien and Eleanor K. O'Brien (Lambert); and her siblings, Col Francis W. O'Brien Jr., Patrica Marie O'Brien and Mary A. Morris (O'Brien).
She is survived by: her nephew Darren L. Reeves; her nieces, Laura Roach (O'Brien), Kathleen Allen (O'Brien), Bridget Rosenberg (O'Brien), Krystal Gagliardi (Reeves), Drew Smith and Kimberly Coon; her sister-in-law Sandy O'Brien of Ashburn, VA.; her siblings, Chip and Caroline Wasson; and her pet Nealy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Karen's honor to organizations she loved, including the American Heart Association or where Nealy was adopted at Alaqua Animal Refuge.
