Hedlund (Quaranta) of Dunedin, Fla.; his son Steven D. Hedlund; his daughter-in-law Stephanie Hedlund (Wendel); his granddaughter Annie of Saco, Maine; his daughter Ellen L. Monteith (Hedlund); his son-in-law Allen Monteith; and his granddaughter Madison of Gorham, Maine. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's.
