He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Pennington; and his brother Harold Pennington. He is survived by: his sisters, Martha Swindell and Freda Farris Bergen; his children, Charles David Pennington (Carol) of Texas, Denise Cooper (Keith) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Kimberly Schneider (Jeff) of Connersville, Indiana, Cathy Watkins (Jeff) of Westfield, Indiana and Todd Pennington (Kim) of Indianapolis, Indiana.; his grandchildren, Kara Wages (Philip), David Pennington, Jonathan Pennington, Courtney Swift (Chris), Thomas Cooper (Brittany), Braeden Cooper, Bri'anne Smith, Brandon Smith, Zach Watkins, Jenna Phoebus (John), Aiden Watkins, Tabitha Suter (Devon) and Jada Still (Jake); and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Kael, River Wages, Noah, Bellamie Pennington, Jeremiah, Ezekeil Swift, Rory, Lettie, Nora, Nellie Cooper, Jade Bradley, Dallas Smith, Ila Phoebus, Teagan Suter and Savannah Still.
