He was predeceased by: his parents, Lela Hale and Rayburn Hale, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Hale; his children, Hayden Hale, Jimmy Allen, Nora Davenport (Mike) and Patty; his grandchildren, Josh, Jimmy Allen, Matt Allen, Cyndi, Shana, Miranda, Stephanie, Tasha, Tiffany and Cassidy; and his siblings, Rayburn Arvus Hale, Jr., Dianna Ridge (Thomas), Kim Wisener (Doug) and Kathy Vaughn (Steve). He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to plant a tree in his memory.
