He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl William Gray and Velma Adair Gray (Wineland); his sister Patricia Jean Kavulick; and his stepson Randy Sanders. He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Elizabeth Gray of Edgewater; his sister Lorrie K. Fender of Ocala, FL; his children, R. William Gray Jr. (Janine) of Crossville, TN, Gretchen Brown (Chris) of Elkton, MD and Melissa Hockenberry (Ralph) of Newburg, PA; and his stepson Rick Sanders (Jen) of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
