He was predeceased by : his son Buddy Basant. He is survived by : his wife Lachmin Mohan; his daughters, Anita Basant, Patricia Persaud, Barbara Basant and Schanti Basant; and his daughter-in-law Dolly Basant. He is also survived by 17 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
