She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Perry" Strickland and Rosa "Rosie" Viola Cox Strickland; her husband Joe; her sons, Thomas "Tommy" K, Dennis "Wayne" and Michael "Mike" Joseph Carter; her daughter-in-law Brenda Y. Bell Carter; her great grandchild Justin Lane Sikes; Rosa Lee Elderson, Lougene Sapp, Annie Bell Strickland, Phonie Mae Harrell, Myrtice Thrift and James Perry Strickland.
She is survived by: her daughters, Gayle Sikes (Jack) of Fernandina Beach, Florida. and Faye Carter of Fernandina Beach, Florida.; and her grandchildren, Kim Simpkins (Bryan), Michele Sikes, Misty Sherwood, Jason Carter (Shana), Marlenea Carter, Christopher Carter (Amber) and Joe Carter (Stacey). She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, special friends.
