He was predeceased by : his sisters, Elaine Knoch and Diane Drake. He is survived by : his wife Gail Ann (Casper) Mackinson; his children, Laura Mostello (John), Dawn Drapeylo, David Mackinson (Stephanie) and Amy Strawn (Joseph Sr.); his grandchildren, Alyssa Anderson (Christopher), Joshua Wingfield, Chloe Bridges, David and Jessica Mackinson, Joseph Jr., Lalynn, Ashlynn and Jentsen Strawn; his great grandchildren, Micaiah, Everleigh and Francesca Anderson; and his siblings, Daniel Mackinson, Donald Mackinson, Delores Florence and Dorothy Gerdes.

“To the Mackinson Family - My deepest condolences on the passing of my “Uncle Dave”. Great guy, many fun memories from years ago camping at his lodge upstate NY and when I was a kid he would take me for ice cream in his VW. You don’t forget those things and I’m sure he left a positive mark on everyone he met in his life. Again, very sorry for his loss and prayers. Charlie Knoch”
