He was predeceased by: his parents, Dulabh Diah and Dhani Diah; his sisters, Prabha Odhav and Ranju Parag; his brother-in-law Pyush Parag; and his pet Maddie.

He is survived by: his former wife Brenda Diah; his pets, Lucie, Zoie and Archie; his daughters, Bree Diah Welch (Ben) and Liska Hamm (Brent); his stepson Heath Zeigler; his daughter-in-law Grace Zeigler; his brothers, Bhula Diah (Prabha) and Mahendra Diah (Kajal); his brother-in-law Thakor Odhav; his grandchildren, Hanna Zeigler, Darian Zeigler, Watson Zeigler, Jack Hamm and Morgan Hamm; his nieces and nephews, Nina Lioy, Maya Diah, Tej Diah, Seema, Bina, Pritesh, Vanesh, Vimal and Neelam; and his friends, Mina Patel, Jim Burleigh, Glenn Briski and Ronnie Patel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gavin's memory to Nassau Humane Society.
