He was predeceased by : his parents, William Lay and Bernell Benton Lay; and his brothers, William and Wilton. He is survived by : his wife Glinda Gail Lay of Fernandina Beach; his children, Lorraine Brannan (Cary) of Jacksonville, Lisa Lay Carter (Art) of Jacksonville, Shannon Haeseler (Mathew) of Canterbury, CT, Danielle Young (Craig) of Canterbury, CT and Garrett Lay (Jasmine) of Yulee; and his sisters, Rebecca "Jeanne" Holler of Jacksonville and Sandra "Sandy" Behzadi (Faramarz) of Jacksonville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
