He is survived by: his wife Peggy Thornton; his children, John Davis, Jr. (Lucy) and Jennie Bentle (Todd); his grandchildren, Justin, Jason of Chesapeake, VA, Hannah and Hunter of St. Mary's, GA; and his brother Stuart Davis (Nola) of Fernandina Beach, FL..

In lieu of flowers, John has requested that donations be made to one of his favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Hospital.
