It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Meddie Joseph Gooding of Fernandina Beach, Florida, born in Fairfax, South Carolina, who passed away on January 22, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dessie Gooding and Emma Priester Gooding; and his former wife Elizabeth Ann Gooding. He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Jo Ann Sapp; his wife Jo Sapp Gooding of Fernandina Beach; his daughters, Lynne Higginbotham (Tim) of Fernandina Beach, Beth Beller of Fernandina Beach, Marilyn Gooding of Jacksonville, Paula Randle (Craig) of Yulee and Laura Rausch (Frank) of Palm Coast; his stepsons, Keith Kirkland of Fernandina Beach and Scot Kirkland of California; Kyle, Cole and Callie. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as several extended family.
