She was predeceased by: her parents, Ileen Bennett and Richard Bennett; and her brother Mark. She is survived by: her wife Angela Lawhorne; her sisters, Molly Schonenberg, Sally Ritchie, Eve Forbes and Jenny Smalls; and her siblings-in-law, Robert Schonenberg, James Ritchie, Mark Forbes and Jan Bennett. She is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces.
Rather than flowers the family asks donations can be made in Susan's memory to the Mark Bennett Memorial Scholarship (Attn: Jean Gilbert, WSESU, 53 Green Street, Brattleboro, VT 05301), National Public Radio (npr.org/donations/support), or the Amelia Island Museum of History (233 S. Third Street, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034).
