He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Harrison and Mary Etta Boutwell; his half-sister Mary Ruth Westbrook-Addkison; and his granddaughter Adrienne Altman. He is survived by: his wife Bertha Harrison; his daughters, Mary Ann Foreman, Linda Pridgen (James) and Frances Sherry (Dan); his stepsons, George Vazeos and Joe Vazeos (Charlene); and his half-brothers, Wayne Westbrook (Joy) and Jimmy Westbrook (Sandra). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
