He was predeceased by: his parents, Boone Galt and Winifred Galt (Carter); his wife Edith Galt; his son-in-law David Mortensen; and his siblings, Winifred Moore, Robert Galt, Patricia Parsons, Judith Tupper, James Galt, Gerlad Rose and James Rose.
He is survived by: his children, Kathi Mortensen of Mooresville and Charles "Billy" Galt Jr. (Lisa) of Golconda, Illinois; his grandchildren, Brandi Ramey (Todd), Jason Galt, Jeremy Galt and Jared Galt (Brittany); his great grandchildren, Elijah Ramey, Hunter, Bryson, Asher, Charlie, Jack and Braxton Galt; his siblings, Nancy Marlett of North Carolina and Edward Galt of Indiana; and his nephew Greg Marlett of Martinsville.
A funeral service was held on Monday, December 8th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Ben Franklin Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery (1977 S State Rd 135, Greenwood, IN 46143).
