He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles C. Garner and Vella Garner (Harvey); and his wife Margaret Ann Garner (Maurer). He is survived by: his children, Charles Michael Garner (Gloria) of Crossville, Illinois and Diane Kay Grunwald (Bill) of Asheville; his siblings, Danny Garner (Mary Lou Garner) and Lou Ann Ayer of Smyrna, Tennessee; and his grandchildren, Charles Daniel Garner (Jillian), Chirstine Wissell (Derek) and Jacquie Keener (Stephen). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Riley's Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Cook Funeral Chapel, 101 Edgewood Lane, Carmi, Illinois 62821.
