He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Vause (Midge); his daughter Karen Vause Green; his son-in-law Robert Green; his parents, Cader Vause and Esther Pigot Vause; and his brothers, Charles Vause and Lamar Vause.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Vause Brooks (Billy) and Jeff Vause; his grandchildren, Katie Norton (Chris), Robert Green, Travis Green, Betsy Poole (Bryan), Brittany Scott (Wes), Amy Norris (Josh) and Jacob Brooks (Jessica); his great grandchildren, John David Norton, Luke Norton, Sawyer Green, Rebecca Green, Liam Poole, Amelia Poole, Milo Norris, Riley Norris, Jasper Brooks, Charlie Brooks and Baby Scott; and his sisters-in-law, Ruby Vause and Pearl Thorsen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park (12777 FL-82, Fort Myers, FL 33913).
